For sale is a beautiful pair of AVi DM5 active loudspeakers, designed and built in the UK by Speaker Techniques Ltd. These are the real thing - proper British engineered active monitors with built-in amplification.

Just connect signal and mains and you're ready to go. Important Service History In April 2022, both speakers had brand new original specification drivers installed. Correct OEM SB Acoustics units. Supplied and professionally fitted by Wilmslow Audio (worldwide recognised UK loudspeaker build specialists). Installed because the original drivers required re-foaming.

Fully checked, serviced and given a clean bill of health They have performed flawlessly during my long ownership. This is not a "repair" - this is effectively a reset of the most important moving parts of the speaker and ensures many more years of enjoyment. Veneer is in excellent condition.

Performance These AVi DM5s are wonderfully transparent monitors that faithfully reveal the character of any system they're paired with. I've run them from an Auralic Aries Femto and Vega combo, an Aries Mini, a Lumin T2, and even a Naim NAC-N272 streamer.

In each setup, these speakers effortlessly unveiled the unique sonic signature of the source, offering clarity, detail, and honesty-allowing each streamer's character to shine. Whether you're listening to high-end digital sources or more compact streamers, these DM5s deliver the truth of your music. Deep and controlled in the bass for their size.

Precise imaging A proper grown-up active system. No need for external amplification. Simply rotating systems and consolidating equipment. Collection preferred due to weight and safety.

When you switch your DM5s on both green an red LEDs on rear will come on for one second as they do a self test, next the green light will go off to indicate sleep mode. As soon as they receive a music signal, the red light will go out and the green will come on. If music ceases for thirty minutes, the green will go out and the red come on to indicate sleep mode and less than 0.5 Watts power consumption.
