Unity Audio's The Rock Studio Monitors are no doubt at the pinnacle of bespoke custom design Nearfield Reference Speakers. Designed specifically for the highest level of true representation of the recorded signal needed in today's competitve challenging professional studio environments. They are designed to give the most accurate sound production for professional sound engineers and producers. They reproduce a flat frequency response of 33Hz (-3dB) and over 100% signal to noise ratio. With an overall range of 37Hz -25kHz (+/-3dB) These Monitors are in excellent condition and haven't had extensive professional studio use and only used in a smoke and pet free home. They are very solid and robustly made and heavy weighing 10 kilos each and are not called The Rock for nothing made with granite composition facias.

The sealed cabinets design made from 9-ply baltic birch with a DuPont Corian heavy front baffle. The closed design avoids ported-box phase lag delivering fast tight and time accurate bass response. The solid sealed units are made from 24mm ply not MDF used by many new design manufacturers. The cabs are specifically not ported to give a more truer bottom end.

The ribbon tweeters feature and Air Motion Transformer (AMT) that extends up to an frequency amplitude of 50 kHz. Providing clean high end non fatiguing frequency details without sounding hissy or harsh. The total output of 100 watts each monitor emits is a well balanced stereo field from the custom made 6.5inch ELAC design specifically created with no cones for greater accuracy and sensitivity. They feature a 0.2mm aluminium foil chemically bonded to each woofer. Described as brutally honest they reveal mix flaws making the translation to other media systems reliably.

The two custom descrete amplifiers A/B dual 50 watt were designed by Tim de Paravicini of Esoteric Audio Reseach deliver 50 watts to the ribbon tweeters and 50 watts to the woofer producing well balanced dual output level for greater accuracy in monitoring and mixdown. They have stereo L/R Phono and XLR audio inputs for versatile connectivity. They have a volume knob but don't have any EQ settings as they are designed to give the most accurate' brutually honest' frequencies at the ouput stage. They deliver 100% accuracy of signal output. I have used them with my MPC X and DAW and also used in sampling from my decks through a 31 band graphic equaliser. They highlighted sounds and frequency on my Vinyl recordings I never realised were there in the original songs and recordings including flaws and even spills from the headphones during recordings.
